Holguin, Cuba

Located southeast of Havana

There are some good spots for snorkeling in Holguin, in the area of Playa Esmeralda (facing the hotel Paradisus Rio de Oro) and Playa Pesquero (located west of Playa Esmeralda).

In August 2009, we spent a week at the Blau Costa Verde, and we made several snorkeling excursions. This is not a paradise, because the seabed has been damaged by Hurricane Ike in 2008. When you take the time to look closely, you always end up seeing some admirable creatures!
